Goodnight Moonshine stars at New Haven twilight concert

Goodnight Moonshine (contributed)

NEW HAVEN - Goodnight Moonshine will give the final performance of this year’s Twilight Concert Series at 7 p.m. August 10, at the Pardee-Morris House, 325 Lighthouse Road, according to a release.

"Steeped in the 90's alternative music of their youth, Molly Venter and Eben Pariser, who comprise Goodnight Moonshine, play modern folk music with brazen vocals and roots and blues guitar," the release said. "Their imagery rich stories and bold melodies create a sound that is both celebratory and mournful, reminding the listener of what it felt like to fall in love with a band for the first time."

Pardee_Morris House (Helen Bennett)
"Co-writing often, the married couple uses the creative process to explore a healthy, authentic relationship. Both wholesome and irreverent, they sing of grief and joy in equal measure. Their music encourages listeners to embrace opposing desires, to challenge as well as support each other through inspiration and dissolution, and hopefully to share this journey with their larger communities."

"The couple’s co-written song "Willow Tree" was a number-one hit on the folk charts in 2014, and featured in USA Today," the release said.  "Venter and Pariser have also appeared nationally and internationally with their respective bands Red Molly and Roosevelt Dime."

The release also noted: "The Museum thanks Alder Salvatore E. DeCola, the Knights of Columbus, Rodrigo Council #44, and neighbors Frank Pinto and Rosemary Spring for supporting the 2016 summer season."
