It's Jane Austen's birthday!NEW HAVEN - The Elm Street Book Group will celebrate Jane Austen's birthday (whic occurred in 1775) with a screening of the 1940 classic film, "Pride and Prejudice," at 6 p.m. Dec. 16, at the New Haven Public Library, 133 Elm St.
"Fans of Austen's superb novel will have the opportunity to see how well Laurence Olivier and Greer Garson interpret the romance between Mr. Darcy and Miss Elizabeth Bennet," organizers said.
