Hartford - In a news release, Secretary of the State Denise Merrill reported that since Jan. 1, "more than 90,000 new voters have registered in Connecticut making themselves eligible to vote in the November 4, 2014 general election."
"The total number of active registered voters in Connecticut is 1,959,055 including 712,985 registered Democrats, 407,520 Republicans and 818,389 unaffiliated voters. "

“We have thousands of new registered voters in Connecticut this year all ready to cast ballots tomorrow,” said Merrill, Connecticut’s chief elections official, in the . “Many people are now focused on the critical questions facing our country and our state as we head to the polls tomorrow, and the trick is to take that focus and turn it into action. It is very civic minded to register to vote – but now is the time to make your voice heard by casting a ballot.”
"Since January 1, 2014, some 90,259 new voters have registered in Connecticut. Including 26,246 registered as Democrats, 16,828 registered as Republicans, and 44,862 unaffiliated voters. Secretary Merrill encourages voters to go online to www.sots.ct.gov/vote to find out if they are registered to vote and where their polling place is located. Polls will be open for the general election from 6:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. on November 4, 2014.
