In the Ruff
The Nathan Hale School Drama Club, some of whom are shown at right acting out scenes, this week presented 101 Dalmatians with daytime performances for students and in evenings for families, the school said. The Nathan Hale Drama Club is a collaboration between Alliance Theatre, Inc. and the district NHPS and has been in existence at Nathan Hale for 12 years, the district said in a statement. Carol Penny, founder of the community theater, now celebrating its 30th year, and Ellen Maust have been advisors and directors for the club since it began, the statement said. Alliance Theatre received funding through the state Lights On After School grant. Also, 101 Dalmatians is supported through the Comprehensive Arts program. The cast includes 54 kindergarten through eighth grade students.
