New Haven: “Bells on Bobtail will ring across the Green”

NEW HAVEN The  New Haven Parks Department and  Department of Transportation, Traffic and Parking together will offer free festive horse drawn carriage rides around the city Green, according to a statement.

The carriage rides will take place from 1 to 5 p.m. Saturdays on Dec. 15 and Dec. 22.

The city also is offering two hours of free on-street parking in select shopping areas. Free meters will be marked with the green bags. The free-parking locations for the next two Saturdays are:

  • December 15: Whitney Avenue from Wall Street to Trumbull Street
  • December 22: Chapel Street from York to Howe

The Broadway Center Lot is also offering free parking for up to 6 hours, with a same day receipt of $15.00 or more, the statement said.
