WOODBRIDGE — The Jewish Community Center of Greater New Haven, 360 Amity Road, holds ongoing classes for mobility impaired people, including those in wheelchairs.
The Sit and Get Fit program is designed to give the mobility impaired an opportunity to engage in aerobics, strength training, and stretching exercises. The light-to-moderate exercises will be modified for safety. Classes are held 11 a.m. to noon Tuesdays and Thursdays, and are sponsored by the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
The instructor is Regine Bence, who has a master’s in exercise science and is a clinical exercise specialist.
Fees are $3 per class for JCC members; $7 per class for nonmembers.

NEW HAVEN - Emmy-award winning jazz pianist and composer Rex Cadwallader and his trio (Mike Assetta-Bass, and Arti Dixson-Drums) play Jazz Vespers service at The Episcopal Church of St Paul & St James, 57 Olive Street (corner of Chapel and Olive Streets, New Haven) at 6:45 p.m. Feb. 14. Each Jazz Vespers service features familiar hymns in a jazz idiom plus one or more new pieces each month, along with vespers prayers and a brief message from the Rev. Barbara Cheney, Rector, or Associate Rector Harlon Dalton. Refreshments and visiting with the musicians follow the short service, which is held each month on the second Thursday at 6:45 p.m.
WOODBRIDGE - Family Shabbat dinner will be held at the Jewish Community Center of Greater New Haven, 360 Amity Road, 5:30 to 7 p.m., March 28, will include live music, singalong, traditional dinner. Fees are $15 adults, and $10 per child, ages 4 to 12. Free for children age 3 or younger. Reservations requested by March 23. Call 387-2522, ext. 276, for reservations.
