The Greater New Haven NAACP went ahead Tuesday night with a political debate, even though one of the candidates, Alderman Charles A. Blango, D-20, declined to participate.
Both men are vying for the seat being left open because state Rep. William Dyson, D-New Haven, shown at the debate, chose not to run again.
