The carriage rides will take place from 1 to 5 p.m. Saturdays on Dec. 15 and Dec. 22.

“A horse draw carriage ride around the Green is a
wonderful piece to a great evening of shopping, dining and entertainment in New
Haven. I hope residents and visitors alike will take advantage of all
that New Haven has to offer this holiday season” said Mayor John DeStefano, Jr., also in the statement.
The city also is offering two hours of free on-street parking in select shopping areas.
Free meters will be marked with the green bags. The free-parking locations
for the next two Saturdays are:
- December 15: Whitney Avenue from Wall Street to Trumbull Street
- December 22: Chapel Street from York to Howe
The Broadway Center Lot is also offering free parking for up to 6 hours, with a same day receipt of $15.00 or more, the statement said.
