NEW HAVEN — The Neighborhood Music School, 100 Audubon St., will hold its first community open house of the year from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday.
The event is designed to give prospective students and others a chance to learn about the school’s arts programs and the nearly 100-year-old organization.
Attendees can take mini-lessons on a variety of musical instruments, sample some of the classes and get information and direction from faculty members about classes for children 6 months to 5 years old to adults.
The nonprofit community arts school has a faculty of 130, which teaches 3,000 children and adults in about 80 towns at sites in New Haven, Guilford and Woodbridge. It’s the 10th-largest school of its kind in the country.
For more information about the open house or programs, call 624-5189 or visit www.nmsmusicschool.org.
