Greater New Haven Peace Council to hold vigil Friday

The Greater New Haven Peace Council will sponsor a vigil aimed at ending the current wars from noon to 1 p.m. Friday June 17 in front of New Haven City Hall, 165 Church St., organizers said.

The event also is aimed at drawing attention to the group’s desire to bring the troops home and to divert military funding to other needs, organizers said. Vigil participants are asked to bring cell phones, so calls can be placed to congressional representatives, organizers said.
