Fort Wooster ‘friends’ organize in New Haven
NEW HAVEN — An exploratory meeting to form a Friends of Fort Wooster group and work with the Elm City Parks Conservancy will be held at 7 p.m. April 12, at the Community Room above the firehouse on Lighthouse Road.
Fort Wooster, on top of Beacon Hill, is the site where the patriots fled after leaving Fort Nathan Hale when the British invaded New Haven in 1779. The meeting is open to anyone interested in preserving this history and improving the park. Committee members will prioritize the parks’ needs, request volunteers and develop a plan. Call 203-946-2459 for information.
