Kayak classes at at Lighthouse Point Park in New Haven

NEW HAVEN — The Department of Parks, Recreation & Trees will offer 10-hour, three-session Essentials of Kayak Touring programs in July and August.
Outdoor Adventure Coordinator Martin Torresquintero says this is a class for paddlers with some kayak touring experience who want to take the sport to the next level.
All equipment, including sea kayaks, PFDs, paddles and related safety gear, will be provided.
All classes are at Lighthouse Point Park, 2 Lighthouse Road. Classes run from 5:30-9 p.m. and session one meets July 9,16 and 23 and session two is Aug. 6,13 and 20. Participants should bring plenty of water and snacks.
The class is $255 for nonresidents and $200 for city residents. To sign up or for more information, call 203-946-6768 or email mtorresq@newhavenct.net.
