New Haven road work: Coming this week

NEW HAVEN — United Illuminating has scheduled work to begin Nov. 18 from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. on installation of an under-bridge conduit hanger system on the College Street Bridge to allow for cable placement to accommodate the upcoming Downtown Crossing Project.
This phase of construction will conclude on Nov. 21. During this stage, Exit 3 will be closed with all westbound traffic exiting at Exit 2. The westbound access ramp to the lower level of the Air-Rights Parking Garage will also be closed during this phase.
Construction may resume Nov. 25 from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. and will be completed by Nov. 29. During the second stage, the on-ramp at Exit 3 will be closed to all eastbound traffic and detoured to the on-ramp at Exit 2.
An extensive signing pattern will be placed in the immediate area, denoting the work hours.
The work will focus on the Route 34 Oak Street Connector, under the College Street overpass, on the approach to the Air Rights Parking Garage. Access in and out of the Air Rights Parking Garage will be limited.
