Ronald McDonald House Charities® of Connecticut and Western Massachusetts has announced it will award a total of $50,000 to 22 local high school seniors this academic year through its scholarship program.
Students of all backgrounds are encouraged to apply, with $31,000 allocated to eligible Hispanic applicants via the RMHC®/HACER® - the Hispanic American Commitment to Educational Resources - Scholarship and $19,000 via the RMHC® Scholars Scholarship, the organization said in a statement.
Scholarship applications are available online at www.rmhc-ctma.org/scholarshipsor by calling 1-866-851-3994, the statement said.
Students can also see their guidance counselor for applications.
The deadline for submitting an application for the 2010-11 scholarship program is Jan. 28, the statement said.
Eligibility Requirements for RMHC scholarships:
1.Be eligible to enroll in and attend a two-or four-year College with a full course study.
2.Reside in a participating area.
Additional Eligibility Requirement RMHC/HACER Scholarship: Applicants must have at least one parent of Hispanic origin.
Scholarship recipients will be selected on the basis of academic achievement, financial need and community involvement, the statement said.
