Free solar energy workshop slated for Tuesday, Nov. 27

WOODBRIDGE — A free Solar Energy Workshop will be held from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 27 at the Woodbridge Town Library,  10 Newtown Road. Workshop attendees will learn about residential solar opportunities and state rebates and tax incentives. An approved solar energy contractor will be present to answer individual questions.
The workshop also will cover the successful implementation of a solar system at the Massaro Farm in Woodbridge.
Acting as hosts for the event are the Bethany Clean Energy Task Force, Woodbridge Clean Energy Task Force and the Bethany Neighbor to Neighbor Energy Challenge.
The Neighbor to Neighbor Energy Challenge is a town-sponsored program that aims to reduce energy consumption in Bethany households by 20 percent.
In addition to Bethany, 13 other Connecticut towns are participating in the Challenge. By taking steps to become more energy efficient, residents will help Bethany meet its goals and win town rewards, such as solar- powered street lights.
Register by calling 860-372-4406 or e-mailing Madeline at mpriest@ctenergychallenge.com.
