BRANFORD — The Alzheimer’s Association, Connecticut Chapter is offering a free series for caregivers of family members with any type of dementia.
This four part series will take place at The Hearth at Gardenside, 173 Alps Road, and will include a light dinner. The classes will run on 6-7:30 p.m. four Tuesdays, beginning Sept. 13. Topics will include:
Sept. 13, overview of Alzheimer’s disease and other types of dementia, treatment, research, and Alzheimer’s Association programs and services.
Sept. 20, communication techniques, behavioral challenges, strategies and safety.
Sept. 27, family dynamics, keeping the caregiver healthy, and community resources.
Oct. 4, legal and financial issues
