Startup Weekend, "an intense 54 hour event which focuses on building a web or mobile application which could form the basis of a credible business over the course of a weekend," is coming to New Haven Nov. 11-13.
"The weekend brings together people with different skillsets - primarily software developers, graphics designers and business people - to build applications and develop a commercial case around them," organizers said on a website.
"Startup Weekend packs into three days what normally takes entrepreneurs three months to do," said organizer Derek Koch, founder of New Haven software company Independent Software. "Entrepreneurs with ideas find your cofounders, develop their plan, and build prototype all in a weekend."
"Startup Weekends are weekend-long, hands-on experiences where entrepreneurs and aspiring entrepreneurs can find out if startup ideas are viable. We are very excited to be able to bring this creative collaboration to New Haven," the site says.
