'Cash prizes for 2012 New Haven Public Library Poetry Contest'

The New Haven Free Public Library has invited submissions for its 4th annual Poetry Contest. 
 

"The 2012 contest theme is "New Haven + reading legacies," and poems will be judged on original interpretations of the theme as well as other criteria," according to a statement.

"Cash prizes of $100 in each age category and $25 for Peoples' Choice winner will be awarded at a Reception on April 21, courtesy of the New Haven Free Public Library Foundation."

 Winning poems will be published in the New Haven Review.

 

The Contest is open only to those who live, work or attend school in New Haven, the statement said. Entries are due by March 1 and may be dropped off at any New Haven Free Public Library branch or emailed to nhfplevents@gmail.com
