"The program will cover all U.S. major conflicts, from the French and Indian and American Revolution through the Gulf wars. Volunteers will be dressed in period uniforms of the era, and uniforms, equipment,
arms, ordnance and histories of the conflicts will be on display," the statement said.
"Several military units will participate, including the famed 1812 Marine Guard, which is based on the USS Constitution in Boston."
All veterans are welcome to come and relate their experiences to the public, the statement said.
The event will celebrate and honor "the citizen-soldier throughout U.S. history," the statement said.
It will be held at Fort Nathan Hale, Woodward Avenue, New Haven.
A $6 donation is requested.
