Bethany Library Friends Fundraiser at Teddy B's

Helping the library by eating at Teddy B’s

Bethany Library Friends ask that on Oct. 23 "you let someone else do the cooking, so that you can do the helping."
Teddy B’s Restaurant, 136 Amity Restaurant, will act as host for the Friends of the Bethany Library Association for an 8 a.m. to 10 p.m., fundraiser to help support library services, according to a release.
The restaurant will donate 10% of your meal price to benefit activities at Clark Memorial Library, the release said.
“What could be better than enjoying a good meal with friends and family, knowing that part of it will go to “feed” the whole community,” Melissa Canham-Clyne, library director, said in the statement.
“When I say feeding, of course, I mean the mind and soul. With books, movies, music, computers and great staff, the library is the perfect place to replenish your thinking and enjoyment of life.”

The Friends of the Bethany Library Association and their volunteers "ensure that the library is able to also provide programs and other services which enrich the lives of Bethany residents," the statement said.
"For example, during the summer the Friends provide financial support for much of the summer reading children’s programming. While the library and schools strongly encourage kids to keep reading over the summer break, it is the Friends gifts that help provide the special programs and reading incentives for the town’s children."
"This past summer young Bethany readers and their families enjoyed music, art and science programs, many of which were possible solely because of the generosity of the Friends group."
