Breast cancer awareness vigil to be held in West Haven

WEST HAVEN — A candlelight vigil will be held Oct. 5 on the Green in honor of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month to remember loved ones and recognize survivors of the disease.
The 12th annual event, presented by the Breast Cancer Awareness Committee, is part of the city’s campaign to raise consciousness of one of America’s leading causes of cancer death among women and men.
Participants will gather on the Green at 6:30 p.m. for the public ceremony, which starts at 7.
Anyone wishing to remember a loved one or survivor can call organizers. The committee will recite the names and inscribe them on a luminary.
For details, call Beth A. Sabo at 203-937-3588 or Jennifer Cavallaro at 203-937-3619.
