Breast cancer awareness event held at BJ's Wholesale Club in Wallingford

BJ’s Wholesale Club in Wallingford held a "Pink Picnic" for the community that featured local breast cancer survivor Bonnie Lurie, who shared her experience with the disease, according to a statement.
Dr. Anees B. Chagpar "spoke about important and state-of-the-art information for breast cancer screening, treatments and research," the statement said.
"At the event, BJ's also unveiled the 'Pink Ribbon' club merchandise which is sold throughout the month of October." the statement said.
The "Pink Ribbon" club products support the BJ's Charitable Foundation, which is distributed to 14 National Cancer Institute designated cancer centers, including Yale CancerCenter, the statement said.
