Coast Guard Auxiliary offers one-day 'About Boating Safely' course in West Haven

WEST HAVEN — U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary Flotilla 24-11 is offering a safe boating and personal watercraft course from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Oct. 6 at the West Haven Flotilla facility, 1 Kimberly Ave.
The classroom boating class will teach attendees general information about boats and maintenance, navigation rules and aids to navigation, what to do in case of boating emergencies and Connecticut-specific laws and regulations, according to a statement.
Individuals who successfully complete this course will qualify for the Connecticut Safe Boating Certificate and the Certificate of Personal Watercraft Operation, the statement said.
