Volunteers sought for Connecticut Shoreline Meals on Wheels

OLD SAYBROOK — The Estuary Council of Seniors Regional Senior Center is the sole provider of Meals on Wheels to seniors living along the Shoreline.
Delicious meals are cooked for homebound seniors, age 60 or over, by a dedicated kitchen staff and sent out hot every week day. Frozen meals are also available for dinners and weekends.
Meals are delivered to Chester, Clinton, Deep River, Essex, Killingworth, Lyme, Old Lyme, Old Saybrook and Westbrook.
Volunteers are needed to deliver meals. Meals are picked up in Chester, Clinton, Old Lyme or Old Saybrook and delivered to homebound seniors. If you have an hour or two available to deliver meals either one day a week or a few days or every week day, consider volunteering for this vital service to seniors on the Shoreline. Interested persons should contact Peg Barrett at the Estuary Council of Seniors, 860-388-1611 or meals@ecsenior.org. A menu is listed in the monthly newsletter or can be viewed online at www.ecsenior.org.  Meals are supported by Senior Resources Agency on Aging with Title III funds available under the Older Americans Act. A $3 donation is requested for those aged 60 or better; otherwise cost is $11.25.
