NEW HAVEN — The American Committee on Italian Migration will hold its annual awards luncheon Oct. 30 at Anthony’s Ocean View.
Honorees are Joanne Scafati and Carmen Marattolo.
Scafati is administrator of the Arden House Care and Rehabilitation Center. She served on the founding committees of the Alzheimer’s Association and the New Haven Memory Walk. She also is on the Columbus Day Committee, NIAF, the San Cataldo Society and Hamden Happy Tails. She is treasurer and past president of ACIM.
Marottolo retired as principal of Westbrook High School. He taught English at Troup Middle School, New Haven, was assistant principal at Guilford High Schoo and taught English at Southern Connecticut State University.
At St. Augustine Parish, North Branford, he is supervisor in the religious education program and teaches classes in the Sacrament of Confirmation preparation. In 2000 he was chosen “Man of the Year” by the Pine Grove Men’s Club of North Haven.
