The George Crawford Black Bar Association, in collaboration with New Haven County Bar Association, is sponsoring a Legal Lines Program, in which attorneys will volunteer to answer phone calls from the public and provide general legal advice. This service is offered free of charge to the public as a means by which the associations can provide a service to and enhance its relationship with the Greater New Haven community in which the attorneys practice law.
If it is determined the caller requires further legal assistance, a referral to a local attorney will be made through the NHCBA’s Lawyer Referral Service within 48 hours.
Of note, any legal assistance beyond the Legal Lines phone call and initial Lawyer Referral Service consultation will most likely involve hiring an attorney. Assistance provided through these two programs will be of general nature and the attorney does not represent the participant.
Any member of the community with a legal question is encouraged to call the Legal Lines Program!
October 19, 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Call-In Phone No: (203) 498-4789
Any questions, please contact the Legal Lines Program Coordinator Pia Pyles (215) 850-7182.
